B-58 Hustler
The Convair B58 Hustler was the first operational supersonic bomber for the Air Force. This plane brings back fond memories of my childhood. Bakalar Air Force base was in Columbus, Indiana, which was about 75 miles South of where I grew up. In the good old days, Air Force planes could fly at supersonic speeds over land, and, every once in a while, we would get to hear a sonic boom as one of these planes streaked overhead.
