This is the plane that ended World War II by dropping the "Fat Man" atomic bomb on Nagasaki three days after the Enola Gay dropped the "Little Boy" bomb on Hiroshima. The specially-modified B-29s that dropped the atomic weapons were stripped of all their guns except the tail gun and also had the standard armor plating removed. These modifications were made to remove enough weight so the heavy atomic weapons could be carried.
