Rick's Photo Galleries

"Conclusive proof that even incredible technology cannot help a lack of talent."
In the bad old days before the Internet, if you took some pictures, you could only bore close friends or family members. Using the awesome power of the 'net, you now have the opportunity to bore millions of hapless victims.
I purchased a Nikon D-70 digital SLR in the Spring of 2004 and have been amazed ever since at the power that the camera has even for someone like me. It makes picture taking easy and fun and will let you either use "Point and Shoot" mode or you can take pictures with all the manual controls of an old-fashioned film camera. Either way, the results are usually excellent. I highly recommend the camera.
Vacation Wildlife
We've all seen the wonderful wildlife pictures from Yellowstone National Park. One of the many things that amazed me on our trip was how much wildlife you could see just driving through the park. I don't know whether the animals take turns posing or what, but was pretty amazing in any event.

Yellowstone Scenery
I was not prepared for the staggering beauty of Yellowstone. I'm not sure you can be. It's something that everyone should see and appreciate at least once in their lives.

Up, Up and Away!
My kids made one of my dreams come true this year when they got me a ride in a hot air balloon. Even better, the ride was right next to the Grand Teton mountains. The best Father's Day present ever!

White Water Rafting!
The family went to Yellowstone National Park for a great vacation. As part of the vacation, the kids and their significant others went on a white water rafting trip. It was really a lot of fun for them and me.

Badlands and Buffalo
As part of a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park, my two daughters and I stopped at the Badlands National Park. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and we got to take lots of pictures and even got up close and personal with a herd of buffalo.

Downtown on Race Day Morning
It was a beautiful day for the Indianapolis 500 as well taking some pictures, so I got up bright and early and headed downtown.

A Walk in the Park
It was the first nice Saturday we had had for what seemed like forever, so we packed up the cameras and went for what turned out to be a pretty long hike (for us) at Eagle Creek Park.

United States Air Force Museum
The United States Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio has the largest collection of military aircraft in the world. The museum is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force base and is a very interesting and educational trip.

2004 Midwest Miata Gathering
Every year, the Greater Cincinnati Miata Club puts on a gathering for Miatas from all over the Midwest. It is always a very well-run event, and 2004 was no exception. There were over fifty cars in attendance from all over the Midwest.

Butterflies in the Garden
Every year, at the White River Gardens here in Indianapolis, they have an exhibit of butterflies from around the world. This year, I managed to get some pictures of both the butterflies and the gardens themselves.

2004 Terre Haute Air Fair
The 2004 Terre Haute Air Fair was a fun trip in spite of the spotty weather. They have finally gotten their act together as far as the parking goes. My son, his S.O. and I went to the show and even though we did get a little wet, we had an excellent time.

2004 Formula One Weekend
Once again in 2004, we Hoosiers got to interact witha whole lot of people that weren't from anywhere around here. It's always a good weekend and I think the visitors enjoy being here as much as we enjoy having them.
